Please tune in and enjoy!
Laurie Recrords-Casting Director
A former professional stage actor (including musical theatre/international touring), Laurie started working in the commercial realm in 2004 for Casting Networks, Inc. From there she moved into a three year position as a full time casting associate where she thrived in casting hundreds of commercials.
Late 2009, Laurie opened “Laurie Records Casting” and STILL laments the humdrum name. While she continues casting all types of commercials (recents: Nestle Toll House, Milk, SoFi, Crown Royal, LiftMaster and Dannon Light & Fit) she also takes on hosting jobs (Disney’s Movie Surfers & DC All Access being the most notable), the crazy world of new media (… sometimes for The Muppets!), print, industrials, voice over and dabbles in film.
Laurie teaches her very own 4-week commercial audition class (most months)… and she loves it. You guessed it: “Commercial Classes by Laurie Records”, yet another humdrum name.
When time allows you might find Laurie as a guest speaker for numerous top-notch actor organizations (SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Universal and Casting Networks, Inc. to name a few) in Los Angeles. She continues in her tenth year of advising commercial actors of the do’s and don’ts of the industry in her monthly column, “Commercial Actors Should Never…” for Casting Networks, Inc. and currently holds the position of VP of the CCDA.
